About the Role
As a Senior Backend Engineer, you’ll design and build scalable APIs and backend systems powering data-heavy research platforms used globally. You’ll work closely with engineers to design database structures capable of handling millions of research papers, implement efficient algorithms across multiple storage layers, and maintain reliable infrastructure. This role offers strong ownership and the opportunity to tackle complex technical challenges.

Skills & Experience

• Strong experience with Swift and backend frameworks (e.g., Vapor)
• Proficiency in Python and SQL
• Experience designing and building APIs and backend services
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Infrastructure as Code experience (e.g., Terraform)
• Strong command line skills, shell scripting, and developer tooling
• Experience working with large datasets and scalable systems
